Track Meet Checklist

Track Meet Information:

Please ensure that your child has his/her singlet, and adequate clothing for every meet. During the course of the meet please ensure that your child knows when he/she is competing and gets to his/her event on time. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children get to their events on time, with their singlets, spikes etc. They are also responsible for ensuring that their children are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. (ranging from warm, waterproof clothes to sunscreen and hats).

Track Meet Suggestions:

Warm up 30 mins prior to the start of an event

Track events always take precedent over field events, meaning if two events are happening at the same time, make sure you check in at the field event, then complete your race on the track, then go back to your field event to finish that event

Try to stay off your feet when not competing in events, your legs can get very tired walking around all day

Stay hydrated, and eat good nutritious food and snacks, you'll need the energy

Watch other events, cheer people on and take pointers while you aren't competing

Stay in the shade, wear a hat, and wear sunscreen. Sun stroke is awful and you want to avoid it at all costs.

If it is cold and wet, try to stay dry and keep warm.
